When darkness falls, Temptations call
And all around me seems undone
You hear my pleas, Supply my needs
And tell me of your wondrous love
You are the joy in my morning
You’re my song of praise
Just like a new day dawning
Flooding my world with grace
Through trials come, and every one
Can take me further from Your truth
You calm my fears, Dry all my tears
And draw me closer, Lord, to You
In you there’s no shadow of turning
Constant in all Your ways
You’re growing my faith and I’m learning to lean
On You all my days

Lately all the Bible study I have been doing has been completely teaching and reteaching me about God’s grace. In my Bible study, I have learned that God’s grace is ready for the Christian at any time. In the book of Hebrews, the writer says that we are to draw near to the throne of grace WITH CONFIDENCE to receive mercy and find grace to help in times of need.
There are times in the Christian life that are difficult. It is in those times God has taught me that I need to wholly lean on Him for help. He has taught me I need to trust in him whenever doing the right thing is not really what I desire to do. It is in these times that Hebrews has come to mean a lot to me. It is a promise to me that I can rush into God’s presence and beg Him for grace and a way to escape for whatever temptation is calling me.
The song I included at the beginning is one that has been stuck in my head for the past couple of days. It meshes so beautifully with what I am learning. God should be my joy in the morning. He is constantly present, helping me along and it is His grace by which I am saved.
It is such an encouragement every time I am reminded that God’s grace is still available whenever we need it. That I can rest in His infallible arms. That He will always hold you and give you strength and mercy. It rejoices my heart that my God loves me so much that He sent His Son into the world to die and save this world from the anger of a Holy God.
Slowly, I am learning to run to God for everything. It is sometimes a painful process and one requiring much prayer for one another. My challenge to you is to draw closer to God. Run to Him in your times of need and lift each other up in prayer. In your greatest time of need, He will give you joy and a peace that passes all understanding.
